Ted Williams Estate
This particular estate is a very open island space exceeding 5,000 square feet of main house, an 1,800 square foot guest cottage and an oversized three bay garage. Nestled in it's own private lagoon, it also has an incredible bayfront dock for sunset viewing. There is a large, open water space with pool, Jacuzzi, large grill area and pool cabana.
This estate is a solid concrete structure built up on structural fill and retention walls to make the first floor above floor regulations, yet un-stilted, as many Keys' homes are. The second elevated floor has two large master suites with two very private outdoor showers—a Dooley Construction trademark. Our craftsmen constructed the dining room wood floor out of coconut trees and the kitchen floor out of Jamaican Dogwood, all produced from materials that were cleared from the site. Large coral slabs quarried from the driveway make up all the exterior walkways.
The chef's kitchen is furnished with Neff cabinetry, black absolute granite tops, Garlin Ranges, Sub Zero's, crispers and dual Gaggenau dishwashers. A gourmet cook's dream!
Completing the house is a private media room with a custom bar complete with coolers, wine chillers and ice machines. There are also two large guest bedrooms with private baths tiled in custom island corals, a private office and rod room and hurricane-rated windows.
This addition to the Islamorada estate of Ted Williams would have made him proud. As proud as I was to have the opportunity to work with the talented couple who designed and poured their hearts into this project.
