Painted Lady
This was a fun project with owners' who allowed us to use some of our creativity to construct a true Key's Victorian house. This home was built in 1987, when Dooley Construction operated under the name of Long Key Constructors. The house is poured in structural concrete clad in wood siding.
Since building the Painted Lady, we have had a lot of fun designing and building many pieces of gingerbread on other projects. This project was built before the production of hurricane-resistant glass, so it was a challenge to conceal the storm shutter look with gingerbread.
I always dreamed of building an authentic Victorian home. The owners', the Murphy's, researched the details all the way down to the last picture frame. Another project of love with two fine people to work with.
